Distasteful Service

I am from Cape Town, but recently visited my outlying clients on the Garden Route. After seeing my last client today, I proceeded to Pick n Pay George Mall where I wanted a bottle of wine and some snacks while I wind down at my guest house.

I literally wanted a bottle of my favorite wine and some popcorn, but ended taking some sweet treats to surprise my daughter when I fly home tomorrow. My hands were full and when I got to the pay station, I saw my fav sprite with mint and lemon.. The teller was basically ending off her current sale, and to me I proceeded to her station put my things down, which at this point was a bit too much to carry if I was still going to add a soda. To have a clear understanding, there was nothing of the previous client left on the side where I put my items, the store was quiet so they werent swamped with customers and my hands were full. The tellers name I think was Sharny, at till number 6, this happened between 4:30 and 5pm. Told me to pick my things up and wait till she is done, I rep**** to say I am just putting my stuff down because I would like to get a soda, she then rep**** that this is the rule, to which my reply was ur rule or pick n pay rule, because never in all my shopping experiences at Pick n Pay was I ever told to pick my stuff up and go back into a line. I would have understood that I was out of line, if the customer before me still had items on that side and I was confusing her, but with such a distasteful attitude she continues to say I need to remove my things and wait till bell rings indicating where I need to go.. ****ed at this time, I resume to pick up my items, and wait. If I was not tired and drained and no energy to go to another store I would have left the entire purchase.

If this was not enough, it ends up that I anyway had to go to her till, just like I asumed that she would be the first person to finish. I let the other customer go ahead of me because I was not about to be disrespected like that and then still let her serve me.

I ended up paying by teller 5, and now I need to hear how she discusses me with her colleague. This infuriated me. I asked the teller serving me what her name was because now I want to take this matter further. How do you think it's OK?

Rules are rules but u also analyse a situation and under no circumstances was it necessary for me to pick my items up again once it was also there. I was in no ones way. The store was quiet and I did not interfere with the customer she was currently helping, so there was no need for her to give me that attitude and make me pick my stuff up. And then to discuss me while I am standing right there.. This is disgusting..

I am not a ***** of take out, so when I am in George I like to pop in and get my nececities snacks and sometimes even hot food from your store but I can assure you I will never shop there again.
