Disgusting Service received by the manager Sylvia Classen

Kindly be advised that I am very disgusted by the service I received from Sylvia Classen manager at Pick n Pay clothing Paarl Mall.

My mom has been a very loyal customer from pick n pay ever since I can remember.

My elderly pensioner mom asked me to accommodate her in exchanging a shirt she bought for a dress to wear at her late husband's funeral. On Saturday 18 January 2020 I took her to the store along with my 4month old twins, husband, and 7-year-old daughter. I spoke to the cashier and explained that I called but cannot remember who I spoke to and asked if I could exchange the shirt even though she lost her slip not even sure they gave her one and that the lady said yes. They then scanned it and saw that it was on promotion now for R69.99 and I told them that my mom paid R99.99 for the shirt. The cashier said we can have a look at something else until the manager got back from lunch.

We went to the till point to finalize the sale and the manager then showed up. I started to explain to her and not letting me finish my first sentence she immediately started yelling at me and said no the price it scans is the price I'll get. I tried to explain to her but she would not let me talk and continued started shouting and screaming. telling me that it is her store and she would not let me come and say and do what I want to I told her that for a manager and a grown woman she is acting very inappropriately and that is not the way to treat any customer as we are the reason that she receives a salary each month. She got angrier and yelled at me and said that the company does not need my R70 and sale. My mom might have only spent an R280 that day but my mom buys her monthly groceries each month at your store and that is also the only place she buys clothing items at.I asked her to stop screaming and yelling as I will write an email to their customer care and she laughed and said that I can go ahead like all the rest she doesn't care and don't need my money. I informed her that my mom paid via credit card and that she can look up the slip as I mentioned that my mom is a pensioner and even though Sylvia the "manager" thought that R30 is not much worth to her it is indeed worth a lot.

A few points to take into consideration regarding the customer service she gave us:The shop was full of customers so what impression did they get? they would obviously think twice before asking for an exchange. My daughter is terrified to enter that store again as she was in tears and terrified by that lady's behaviorI would not recommend any other person to shop at that store again. And this makes me think the following. Is this how you make your money? people purchase for a large amount and then when exchanging or ask for a refund they get less money back and the store gains the rest? If she has done her job correctly she could have looked up the till slip and then she would have seen that my mom paid R99.99 for the shirt but why would she because she knew that the store scores. So how many people have you done this to though?
