Disgusting service from Pick n Pay Arbour Crossing

Had a terrible experience with the guy at the door who is responsible for sanitizing shoppers hands at the entrance on the 23rd of July 2020. Due to having Allergic Rhinitis I cannot have my hands sprayed with sanitize as it triggers it off and aggravates my asthma, so I wear gloves , together with a face shield and a face mask. When I arrived at the door the man insisted that he sprays my hands with sanitizer,?i told him that I am allergic to the sanitizer and that you do not sanitize disposable gloves. He then persisted to ask me to spray ny hands, I then asked for the manager and asked him who gave them the orders to spray surgical gloves, he said that instruction came from head office. I then informed him that I would be complaining to both Pick n Pay Headoffice and to the Health Deparment. When I got home I called the Pick n Pay customer care line and logged a complaint, which I was told was being escalated, the ticket number was ***. I still have not received any response to this complaint , yesterday was the 2nd of August 2020. So I went into the store yesterday to redeem my knife with the promotion that ended yesterday. On arrival at the door the lady that was sanitizing hands again insisted that she has to sanitize my gloves hands, when I informed her that you do not sanitize gloves, she insisted that she will, when I asked for the manager , she said she was the manager, I then asked for someone higher than her, she told me she cannot and will not call them. In the meantime the security at the door came out and asked me to calm down, I informed him that I will not calm down as even after me telling the lady that I’m allergic to the sanitizer and that is why I’m wearing gloves, she still insists on spraying my hands. I asked him if he could please call a manager that was higher than the women at the door, he was walking into the store, when the lady spoke to him in the mother tongue and her not knowing that I understood every word she said, she told him to leave me alone and not call the manager, just let me stand there. She then told me that she is busy and cannot call anyone and she refuses to let me into the store. I then went to the back entrance and saw manager of the cashiers and told her my story, she is aware that I’m allergic to the sanitizer as I did have an issue even before this, she then told me that she will call Shawn who is the floor manager and he will assist me. A few mini later Shawn came out and I explained to him exactly what had happened, he apologized for her behavior and asked me to come into the office , he then asked another man to call the lady from the door and when they both arrived, I asked the lady at the door if she knew what Allergic Rhinitis was, and that she insisted on spraying my hands even after I told her I’m allergic to the sanitizer. She then said she doesn’t care about me and will continue to Spray everyone even people with gloves as this is the instructions she was given. I called her an idiot as the English definition of idiot is “ a stupid person or a person behaving in a stupid way” now that’s exactly what she was doing. Behaving in a stupid way by asking me to sanitize my hands even though I told her I’m allergic to it. The other managers then said they would not allow me to call her an idiot, so I asked them what would you call a person who insists on you doing something that is detrimental to your life. The lady then has the audacity to say, “ that if I’m sick I must stay at home and not gone to the store “ who the gellcfied and made her God. Then Shawn said that because they were not medically trained and do not know much about Allergic Rhinitis they cannot allow me into the store. I then said to them that I’ve been visiting the store from the beginning of lockdown with no hassles, the fact that I was in there now to claim a knife you had to spend R6000 to qualify for, but they said when they get different instructions they would adhere to them. Never ever in my entire life was I ever treated so appallingly, disgusted, disrespected and like the **** of the earth . It was absolutely shocking to know the not 1 but 3 uneducated managers at Puck n Pay Arbour Crossing expected new to endanger my life to enter their store. What made it worse I was treated worse than a ******** as the other coloured manager followed me out of the store as if I was as uneducated as him and did not understand what it meant to not be allowed to enter the store. Disgusting, appalling, terrible, shocking, embarrassing and totally against my human right to being a person with a medical condition that needs to be treated with respect and dignity. I have again complained to the customer services department and spoke to a consultant by the name of Kurina with the ticket number *** and was also informed by her that she was escalating it to the general or regional manager. Won’t hold my breath though as I’m still waiting for a response from my first complaint
