Disgusted

Went to Pick ' n Pay yesterday, Table Bay Mall; as I do every Wednesday for my once a week shop for Groceries etc. Looking for Christmas Chocolates? Well what was supposed to be a Christmas Display of Treats, Decorations etc was an untidy mess on the shelves and to one side boxes spilling their contents all on the floor. Waiting to be unpacked? ???. Tried the Sweet aisle, very poor selection and same with the Biscuits. Next, Breakfast Cereal - my choice out of stock (?) Next - Pet food - P ' n P Tuna for cats out of stock AGAIN. That is all Miss Ella will eat, the other two will settle for something else. Next - Magazines - tucked in a corner on its own ( which is a good idea if you want take your time to choose )but now this big table of Sale items right in front of it and almost impossible to navigate. But the Cherry On The Top. .....I get to the Till. The Cashier shows me inclining her head that I can unpack, I ask her if she is going to clean /sanitise the surface ( there was spilt flour and other unidentifiable marks on the surface ) she just looked at me and I again insisted that she clean the surface. So she goes off somewhere to find a Spray and cloths to wipe everything down. Surely each Till should have a Spray handy at all times. Also her "Packer " was a little girl of about 10 years old ( maybe her daughter )very polite and handed me my bag of groceries with a friendly smile and wishing me a good day. But surely with the situation as it is with Covid numbers rising daily, this is not a safe practice. ? Come on Pick ' Pay,please be mindful of keeping up standards in ALL your stores.
