DISAPPOINTINGLY DISHONEST PICK ‘N PAY
How disappointing to know that Pick ‘n Pay are ripping their customers blind. This claim is made on the basis of one item in particular, but clearly this is their modus operandi on all items. I purchase a specific animal product from South Road, Morningside. In November I purchased 4 tins @R194 each. In February I purchased 2 tins @R194 aech. In April I purchased 2 tins @R214 (R20 increase) and in June the price was up to R234 (making it a R40 increase overall - 21%). How can this be when the stock has not moved. There have been the same number of tins since November 2021 apart from those that I purchased. I have been watching this seemingly “dead stock”, and it was confirmed by the manager that this is the same amount that has not moved since my last purchase in April. How then does the price increase in line with inflation/petrol hikes etc when no extra costs have been incurred and indeed no new stock has been replenished?
