Disappointing Service

Pick n Pay I recently visited the Pick n Pay store at the De Ville Centre at Durbanville. It is a nice store in a nice location, the prices are good, it has everything going for it, but the service at the attached café/restaurant leave much to be desired. I sat down to order a toasted sandwich and cappuccino, I waited for around 20 minutes with no waitress in site. I eventually got up and peeped into the kitchen area, there was only one person busy, she ignored me. In the interim two other people entered, sat for a while and then left. I returned to my seat and waited a while longer before the waitress eventually approached me and asked what I wanted to order. I pointed out the toasted sandwich I wanted on the menu and a cappuccino. She informed me that she could not make the cappuccino, another lady makes the cappuccino, but she was not available at present. I asked when she would be available, she rep**** that she did not know. Suddenly the other supposed lady appeared from the store, I intervened and asked her, she said it would take a while. So, I waited and eventually my sandwich and the cappuccino arrived. I had to wait another while and beckon for my bill. The bill had the amount scribbled on a piece of paper, which I had to go pay at a till point in the store. There is another eatery a short distance away and it was full of people eating, so too the nearby Wimpy. The Pick n pay venue is ideal, the prices are reasonable, but there is something seriously wrong. The store manager is nowhere to be seen, the waitress is unfriendly with a “take it or leave it attitude.” there is obviously no supervision at all. At the rate we hear of Pick n Pay stores closing across the country, this would not surprise me. Bill Smith
