Did Pick n Pay pretend to refund me?

I returned a dress to Pick n Pay that I had bought for a wedding but landed up not wearing.<br> Since I bought the dress on my debit card, the lady said it had to be credited on my debit card, which I had no problem with. The problem I do have is that I returned the dress on Tuesday and my money is still not in my account. Surely it is not fair, that if I purchase something and it gets taken off my account immediately, but it doesnt work the same from Pick n Pays side. How do I know that Pick n Pay actually paid my money back? The lady was very vague and couldnt get me away from the counter fast enough. I have a feeling that Pick n Pay didnt pay me back but happily took the dress back. I will never support Pick n Pay again, and I will make sure my friends and family dont either with this behaviour
