Damaged goods

We recently bought milk and noodles with a couple of things from pick n pay. Had the goods delivered only to find that the goods were damaged,wrote to them and recieved a response 5days later requesting that the will pick up the items...how fair is this please tell me.

Box of milk was damaged. Noodles were crushed. Now they want to make it seem like it happened i. The process of it being delivered.
