CUSTOMERCARE? - NOT QUITE!

I have written several reviews of my experience with Pick ‘n Pay in Gqeberha [Port Elizabeth] on this platform. I wrote about the rudeness of Pick ‘n Pay’s Summerstrand staff and many years ago, I stopped shopping at Pick ‘n Pay.

In September 2022, I decided to try the Pick ‘n Pay at the new Boardwalk shopping centre. It was then that I was accepted a Smart Shopper card - BIG MISTAKE. In the same month I decided to try Pick ‘n Pay’s on-line shopping - ANOTHER BIG MISTAKE [see my review here of 23 Sept 2022].

Then the SPAM started, continuous advertising emails from all PnP departments. On 22 September 2022, I went to my profile page on PnP’s website and “opted out” from all marketing communications.

IT DID NOT HELP.

I sent an email to Pick ‘n Pay customer care team to stop the SPAM emails. I got an idiotic response email from Zanele Ngaliphi. THE SPAM CONTINUED.

On Wednesday this week [8 Feb], I emailed PnP Pet Club and Customer Care to request that I be unsubscribed from ALL COMMUNICATION. I explained my previous attempts in September 2022. I got the following reply from Ammaarah Dollie [support]: == “Thank you for notifying us and apologies for the inconveniences caused. Kindly note that I can definitely look into the matter on your behalf, but I will need to ask you some basic security questions to ensure the safe keeping of your information. Please provide me with the details below: - Full name and surname (as stated on the account): - Cell number (old and new): - SA ID/Passport number: - Physical address (old and new): - Email address (old and new): - Name of PNP store you usually shop at: - Smart shopper card number (new card only): Please send old and new details where required. Do note that it is essential to have all the requested details, as this is for verification purposes. Thank you in advance for the requested information. Once the above is provided, I will be able to assist you further.” ===

UNBELIEVABLE! I need to supply all of the above to STOP PICK ‘N PAY FROM SENDING ME SPAM? Instead: 1. I tore up my Smart Shopper card, 2. I blocked all emails that mention Pick ‘n Pay anywhere in the email or address, 3. I wrote this review,

Naturally, I will have nothing more to do with Pick ‘n Pay on-line or otherwise.

CUSTOMER CARE? MORE LIKE CUSTOMER SCARE!

Reviewer Update
As expected I received an automated response.
" Please accept our apologies for the poor product quality received.
We are addressing your concerns with our Corporate Brands Team."
"poor product quality" and "Corporate Brands Team".
The "Pick n Pay Team" probably didn't even read my review as they rep**** with the incorrect standard response.
All these "Teams"!
As for customer service, very little!
But then, it is this sort of indifference to customers that I have come to expect from Pick n Pay.
At least they are consistent if nothing else!
