Consumer act does not Apply to Pick n Pay Arbour Crossing

Bought a fan in November, Now it is broken. According to Pick n Pay it has te be sent in to be repaired.

I do not have a problem for them to send it in for an assessment, but I do have a problem that they want to get it repaired.

According to the consumer act I have the option to get it repaired, get a refund or replacement. But apparently the consumer act does not apply to Pick n Pay Hyper Arbour crossing.

The manager is also to important to come and talk to customers

Just so that you know what the act states "Consumers are permitted to return goods to suppliers, without penalty and at the suppliers' risk and expense, within a period of six (6) months after delivery of such goods, if the goods are of inferior quality, unsafe or defective."

In this case the goods (the Fan) is defective, because it does not work.
