Complaint Regarding Anele Mnguni (Jabulani Mall - Soweto)

I'M POSTING ON HELLOPETER BECAUSE PICK N PAY IS NOT RESPONDING TO MY EMAILS.

I'd like to report an incident that happened on Wednesday, 01 October 2025 between myself and Anele Mnguni at your branch in Jabulani Mall, Soweto at about 3pm onwards.

I bought a Nescafe Black Roast Coffee on 24 September 2025. My partner and I had a miscommunication via the phone. I told him that I'll buy the coffee and food strainer, but he also bought it because he was under the impression that I won't buy the items. I then decided that I'll return the items I bought seeing that by the time I got home, he had already opened the coffee he bought earlier because of our miscommunication.

I returned the items on Wednesday, 01 October. I was at the shop from about 3pm, the security guard signed my slip and told me to speak with Anele regarding the refund. Anele Mnguni took the coffee and opened it (please check the CCTV footage), and then she accused me of opening it prior to coming to the shop.

A heated argument erupted between us, i was very upset with her for opening the coffee based on the fact that she misunderstood my explanation above. She threatened to beat me up for accusing HER of opening the coffee - she blatantly denied opening it. Her threats of violence is something I can report legally.

She didn't even weigh the coffee to check if indeed it was used. I still have it with me, I haven't used it yet. She didn't believe me that I didn't use the coffee, she accused me of trying to refund something I've already used, whereas she opened the coffee bottle and it even made a sound of the gold seal coming off as you open the lid. I asked her about the sound that came from the gold seal and she had no answer.

She caused a huge scene and showed off st my expense in the presence of so many people in the shop. She only refunded the food strainer, not the coffee.

I'd like this matter to be sorted out as soon as possible. I've attached pictures of the slip.
