Oncology department pick n pay medical scheme Comparing my fathers life to a car

<div>Horrible just horrible! My Father has been with this medical aid for over 20 years and has not even missed one payment now that he has a life threatening condition nothing is being done to assist. My father was operated on for a melonama growth on his left axilla by Dr GB Mc Michael and a mass was removed the specimen comprised a well circumscribed tumour mass surrounded by fibrofatty tissue 404grams the tumour measured 91x91x55mm. My father then went for scans to see if the melonama has spread to other pRts of the body but luckily it didn't. Dr GB mc michaels then told us that they are going to ask the medical aid for futher treatment as the melonama has a great chance of returning and that it could come back an might not be able to be removed and he will die from it. But the medical aid declined the request from the Dr. I then phoned the lady at the medical aid (Michelle was her name) she told me there is nothing they can do and that the Dr must send another treatment plan. I explained to her that there is no other treatment plan for this tipe of melonama. She said that they did not that and that i should ask the Dr to send a motivational letter explaining this. I then did so. The Dr did send a motivational letter on the 20th of January 2019 and we still haven't received any response. I then sent a email to the Drs assistant and she responded by sending me all of the emails that she has sent to the medical aid begging then to get back to us as this could turn into a life threatening decease if not treated. After reading all the emails i sent a email to sister phoda clarivette at the oncology department *** exsplaining to her that i am very upset that we haven't received any feedback and telling her that my father has been a loyal client to this medical aid for over 20 years and that they don't mind taking money from him every month but now that it is the medical aids turn to help nothing is being done and that it is unacceptable and that if my father dies it will be there fault and that my fathers life is more important than money. Sister Phoda clarivette then rep**** to my email asking for my phone phone number. I sent it to her and she phoned me back she then told me that the treatment was declined and told me that it is half a million rand for 6 months and who is going to pay for the other six months and then SHE COMPARED MY FATHER LIFE TO A CAR I QOUTE " if you buy a rolce royce car you can't just buy it you must maintain it so how are you going to maintain your fathers treatment" I then told her how dare you compare my fathers life with a car my fathers life is more important than a metal object and then i said i don't want to talk to you anymore and i put down the phone. This took place yesterday 04/02/2020 at 3:48pm this is unacceptable this lady and medical aid is no help at all they have this horrible attitude when it comes to helping us my father was operated on the 28/11/2019 the motivational letter was sent on the 20/01/2020 it is now the 05/01/2020 and the letter has still not been reviewed by the medical aid board every day we wait for help is a day waisted for my fatgers treatment does these people have no shame in comparing someones life to a CAR????my fathers details Filippus van der merwe Member no *** Option :plus option Benefit date : 01/01/1996</div>
