Chemical taste in chicken livers bought at deli

I bought some chicken livers to put on my sandwich before work and the lady behind the counter took a serving s**** out of a yellow bucket, tapped it (I assumed to tap the water off) and scooped up some chicken livers. I got to the office and put it on my bread and took a bite. My entire mouth inside started burning and it tasted like a chemical. I still have the chicken livers in the work fridge as proof. I emailed Pick and Pay head office and the manager of Sable Square phoned me admitting it was some chemical that the s****s were in and that they had to do it (surely it gets rinsed off before serving). I asked for this to be put in writing and gave my email address again but I still have not had the courtesy of a written reply as requested. The money is not the issue nor do I want more chicken livers, its the principle - I feel it is unacceptable to serve food with a s**** dripping in chemicals, the whole inside of my mouth was burning and I was afraid what it would do to my body. So I am still waiting for my email and will most certainly never buy from that deli again and have told my boss and friends too. It is a pity as it is near to where I work and I used to go there often.
