Butchery Staff Handles Meat With Bare Hands!

I went into Pick n Pay Canal Walk in order to buy meat for a dinner I'm preparing for guests. I happened to glance into the butchery area and saw a staff member handling the meat he was packaging with his bare hands! When confronted about it he said that they were not supp**** with gloves. I then went to the manager's office only to be told that no branch of Pick n Pay provides gloves to their butchery staff and that all meat is handled with bare hands, relying on 'hand sanitiser' to prevent contamination.

As cross contamination of meat is a very real danger, how does Pick n Pay intend to protect its customers? Also, it takes a minimum of 15 minutes of scrubbing to adequately sanitise hands in order to prevent bacterial infection. There is also a very real danger of contaminating meat with blood from open wounds or sores with any number of diseases. Has the epidemic of Ebola in Africa not taught you anything??

I've been a Pick n Pay customer for years, lately ordering and buying online. I will NEVER buy another product from your company because you do not give a rat's ass about my safety. This will be posted on Facebook and I will tell everyone I can about it.
