Brand Match Joke

A recently purchased a Seam Fix Ripper (bar code ********** 534575) for a whopping R39.99. It cost a haberdasery shop less than R10.00. If you are unlucky to buy it from an upmarket store you may pay a few rands more. But not at PnP. They are trying to be competive with brand match but then sell certain items at very high inflated prices. A 1000% and more mark up means nothing to them as long as the consumer pays.

Hi Delile,
Thank you for taking the time to address your concerns with us.
The nature of retail is such that we and our competitors run promotions on products throughout the year. These are typically never aligned from a timing point of view and therefore it would not be possible to simply match our prices all the time.
Brand Match takes effect when ten or more different products are purchased and at least one of these items is a brand match item, this will trigger an instant price comparison at the till.

Thank you for the "caring" response. It just shows the attitude about your clients. You missed the point - it has nothing to do with promotions. You highly inflated prices of certain items to recover the "better"price, to so called beat the competitors prices. What is the excuse for the very expensive seam ripper?
