Bottle Explodes and Causes Damage to Microwave

On 15/12/2017 I bought six bottles of JC Le Roux from Pick n Pay Liquor at the Promenade. I packed them away in the kitchen cupboard where I always packed my drinks. Less than an hour later, I heard an explosion from the kitchen and when I went to investigate; I saw liquid coming from the cupboard and spilling onto the microwave. I moved the microwave out of the way and placed a kitchen towel to absorb some of the liquid which had gone through the microwave vents. That same evening; after clearing the mess, I called the store to report the incident, but there was no response. I then called the customer care line which was already closed; I have subsequently called the store and was referred to Distel. At Distel I was told to take the bottle back to the store and a few days ago I was called and told to collect six bottles of the sparkling wine to replace the one that had exploded. I have not heard anything from Pick n Pay as there was causal link between the bottle which exploded and the damage to my microwave. Despite several calls and even going to the store where I was referred and spoke to the store manager; my microwave remains damaged.

Good day Anwar, The supplier replaced the broken bottle but has made no reference to the microwave which was damaged. For Pick n Pay to refer me to the supplier is totally unacceptable! ! ! I bought goods from your store and I expect Pick n Pay to take responsibility for the damage caused by a product I bought from their store. You can then follow up with the supplier in your own time. I am certainly going to escalate this as it has been ongoing and in the meantime I am without a microwave and all the inconvenience that goes with it. The fact that you do not even apologise nor acknowledge the damage speaks volumes. Regards, Mandisa
