Beware "R50 off a future shop" promotion, read the tiny print!
If you are going to reward people with a voucher that is only valid for 2 days, you need to highlight the fact that it is only valid for 2 days, not hide it in the small print.
On the 18th of April I got email from P+P telling me that if I spent R500 or more by the 20th of April I would get "R50 RAND OFF YOUR NEXT SHOP". So I went on the 20th and did a big shop to get my voucher. Generally when I have had vouchers from P+P they have been valid for a week or 2, but when I went to do my next shop 7 days later, the voucher was no longer valid! Turns out the voucher issued to me on the 20th was only valid for 2 days, until the 22nd. Absurd, if I had just done a big shop, why would I be returning within 2 days to shop again. When I put on my glasses and examined the small print on the voucher I saw the expiry date was mentioned there. I went back to the original email and saw it was also mentioned there, but again in small print, about a 10 or 20 times smaller than the headline text of "R50 RAND OFF YOUR NEXT SHOP". I wonder how many other people went and did big shops to get vouchers, which they then couldn't use because they had expired.
I did ring the Customer Care line, they listened to my complaint but said there was nothing they could (would?) do about it.

Please take note that the spend stretch communication that went out to our customers did state until when they can use the R50 off voucher before they even received the voucher.
