BEWARE OF PICK AND PAY STORE CARDS!
I recently had a bad experience with pick and pay and all was resolved. After someone from the customer care called and apologised and even acknowledged receipt of my R5000 payment even though R720.00 was actually due. This morning i see R720.00 went off my account by debit order. Now i have NEVER given picke and pay my banking details. I pay all my accounts by eft. I know they are a financial institution but who gives them the right to pri into my private stuff. After acknowledging my payment which was way more than my installment, they still have the audacity to debit my account without my consent!!!!! this must be against the law, my account is not over due. They have no right to look up my banking details and debit my account without authorisation. I will make sure to tell all my friends of my experience and to beware, the lady that spoke to me to ask me 5 security questions, knew everything about me, where i bank, how many credit cards i have, how many accounts i have and with which stores, what my credit limits were. she told me she knew all the answers to the questions she was asking, i just needed to confirm. This should be a normal retail account, pick and pay shouldnt use the fact that they are a financial institution to have their way with the customers. I clearly didnot approve a debit order. They must reverse my money as i had already paid them a large lump. Guys think twice before you accept the store account. I only accepted it as this guy came up to me one day while shopping and he made it sound so good. He did all the work while i shopped. I am actually thinking twice about this account as this account seems very dangerous to have. I will also contact the relevant ombudsman to find out the legalities of debiting ones account without their consent. THINK TWICE BEFORE OPENING A PICK AND PAY STORE ACCOUNT
