BAD SERVICE TWICE IN A WEEK
13 October 2022 - I went to Pick n Pay clothing at Sasol Junxion, Standerton at 19h30. the store normally closes at 20h00. Standerton had Eskom load shedding from 19h00 so the store was operating on a generator. At 19h40 I went to pay for my items as was told that with the load shedding, processing my card transaction will need the manager who was at another Pick 'n Pay Supermarket which is a few feet away from the Pick 'n Pay Clothing I was at. The manager was called, whom I assume is DJ. I waited till 19h55 for him to come other to the store in question because he was still "buying groceries for his house". At 19h57 I walked over to the Pick 'n Pay Supermarket and the security had already closed the doors to the store and refused to call "DJ" for me.
What I'm failing to understand is 1. the store hours are from 08h00 till 20h00 - according to my understanding that means consumers are able to shop at the store from 08h00 until 20h00 - not a moment earlier not a moment later yet doors to the store are closed by 19h57. Number 2 - the fact that I had to wait for this DJ guy doesn't sit well on me. Is he the only one in the whole store who can authorize payments? Mind you this is between two stores. Three the attitude the security has when you are requesting help is appalling. This isn't the first time I get such treatment from the same security and unfortunately I do not know his name. A week earlier the store sold me rotten coconut cupcakes and when I went to query this (I only saw them when I got home) - the same security was shouting at me telling me how he wants to go home.
This kind of treatment from both the store management and security is totally unacceptable. If Pick 'n Pay gives such training to its employees it makes me wonder how Head Office operates. Rather close down and allow stores who understand the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE to operate.
