Bad food, Bad service & empty promises

On the 24 July 2022 I bought a packet of White Star maize meal (BB date 23.02.23) from Pick n Pay East Point Shopping Center (East Rand Mall). On the 28 of July 2022 as I was busy pre-paring a meal for myself and my 2 year old son I had discovered that my White Star "Super maize meal" had worms in it.

I decided to return the maize meal the next day. When I got to the return goods till I was met by a very rude lady not to sure what her name was. I explained to her that I had discovered worms in my maize meal. She then continues her conversation with her colleague's and totally disregards my presence as a customer. A few minutes later she asks me to sign the till slip and then continues her conversation with her colleague's. I am standing there completely lost because the person helping me has hardly exchanged two words with me since I've been standing there.

Next best thing she just hands me back the money and continues her conversation with her colleague's. I then told her that I was utterly disappointed at her service as she hardly spoke to me. Secondly she did not even take the time to look at the pictures I was standing with and waiting to present. I had to leave work to return the maize meal and the least she could've done was to apologize for the inconvenience I had been caused.

Her reply to all my concerns were "would you like to speak to my manager". I was disgusted at her tasteless service it was as if she really dislikes her job. I agreed to speak to the manager and was then met with Mashudu Masede.

Mashudu humbly listens to my complaints about both the bad maize meal and bad service rendered. He takes down my details and promises that he would get the rep from White Star to give me a call. To date I have not spoken to the rep once.

I called Mashudu often to find out when the rep will call all he does is promise to get in touch with me once he receives feedback from the rep. On Tuesday I again called him and he promised that he was going to create a conference call with myself and the rep too date that has not happened.
