Bad Customer Service from a PnP Cashier

My wife and I have been coming to Pick n Pay Woodmead since 2015. Today, we had a very bad experience at Pick n Pay Woodmead, where a cashier by the name of Motshwana Ramalatso, who was extremely annoying and playful in serving us on Friday 20 May 2022, at about 14h50. My wife simply told her to not get a plastic bag for our braai pack, saying a braai pack is already in a plastic bag.

She had no customer service, and actually even started singing and clearly not paying attention to us, and further, had several conversations with her colleagues who were at the Lotto desk, almost mocking in the way she was singing. Listen, we don't come to Pick n Pay to be sang to, or to be given attitude, or even to be given a hard time when we're trying to purchase. We live in the area, and we always shop either there or at Waterfall Corner.

It's really annoying to deal with cashiers who don't pay attention and thereafter, have to void things just because they have no care of what they're doing. As a business person, I would never hire someone like this lady, who views her conversations with her colleagues, more important than the customers paying her salary. People have gotten so use to there not being any consequences to their actions in the workplace anymore. Many of our people come from bad family and financial situations, and when I see someone playing around with a job like that, I really feel like they're the ones doing me a favour, instead of them doing what they were hired to do.

Please speak to your staff about this letter, because customers don't really deserve to be given such attitudes when purchasing and keeping the lights on at Pick n Pay employee homes. I have people who work for me too, and we have clientele that we serve and give the utmost respect to, because they too keep our lights on. It's a symbiotic chain system, that many people, who work in the customer service industry don't seem to understand. Please make them understand how crucial this system is. I'm quite astonished to find that there are people still playing with jobs after Covid-19.

Customer Service is very very important.
