Atrocious customer service & disgusting hygene practice at the Pick n Pay Waterfront store
<p>On Sunday 25th December I went to your waterfront store to grab a few things quickly. At the time I was 8 months pregnant and was feeling for some donuts. I went to the bakery counter and I asked the assistant for 4 cinnamon donuts and a cream donut. She didnt have a tag so I dont know her name. She said she didnt understand my order so I repeated. She said again she didnt understand, so I repeated, and then decided to point out through the glass the cinnamon donut, she then asked if I want cake. So I repeated no the cinnamon donut. She then shoved 4 donuts into a small white packet and dropped 2 on the floor, and added it back to the basket (no consideration for hygiene). She then spent the next few minutes walking up and down the counter trying to find the PLU code, and eventually another staff member put it in. At this point, it had been 10 minutes and if I wasnt desperate for these donuts I would have just left. She then shoved the cream donut into one of these white packets squashing it and the cream. and then walked around again. At this point I really just lost my patience and started to raise my voice and ask how long does it take to get 4 cinnamon donuts and a cream donut. Seeing my obvious distress at the situation, another counter hand came over and asked if I wanted a cream donut to be put in the box. I said yes, I have been asking for this repeatedly. He asked a second time if Im sure I want the donut. NOw I was just ****ed off. I said yes why do you think i am standing here. He apologised and said the other counter hand was new. That is really not my problem. It took over 10 minutes to get 4 cinnamon donuts shoved into a packet and a cream donut. The worse part was that I was 8 months pregnant, I had to stand around your store and deal with completely *********** staff. If someone doesnt know what a donut is they should not be working in the bakery as a counter hand! The worse part to this whole thing is that when I finally got home and ate my squashed cinnamon donut, they were so goddam aweful, it was just a roll with some cinnamon and sugar on the top. This will teach me a valuable lesson NEVER no matter how desperate to order donuts at your bakery and I should stick to woolworths cinnamon donuts. You really need to train your staff better, and start with the basics, like if they working in the bakery, know what a donut is! To make matters worse, I set this complaint to customer care on the 28th December via email ********** and I am still waiting for a response or acknowledgment of my email! Since the incident, I have had my baby, will never eat your donuts again and perhaps by the time my son is able to eat donuts, Pick n Pay customer care will bother to respond!<br /> </p>
