ASSAULTED AT PICK 'N PAY ON DARWIN
Yesterday, I was physically assaulted - publicly - by a foreign man. He choose to get physical in the parking lot at Pick 'n Pay On Darwin. I didn't "ask" to be pushed to the floor nor did I "ask" to be the victim of abuse. Before you jump to conclusions, don't ask me what I did to "provoke" him. Don't justify the abuse by looking for an excuse to blame me. It was his choice to lay his hands on me and my friend. After he saw that he wasn't going to get anywhere by verbally abusing us, he started getting physical. With torn clothes and bruises, we gave our statement to the Police who eventually showed up after waiting almost 2 hours, after the incident occurred.
The lack of security at the shopping center is shocking. The man who calls himself head of security only intervened after the foreign man drove off. He continued and spoke to us by justifying the man's behaviour, implying we "asked for it". We were the victims, but treated like the culprits, ********* even.
