Appalling service - Pick n Pay Online

I used to use Pick n Pay online shopping to get food delivered to my 85 year old Granny in Cape Town as I live in the UK and cannot get the shopping for her. Almost every week either the site is down, or they don't deliver some products but still charge or the drivers arrive at what ever time they desire. Some nights they have arrived at 9pm at night when they booked between 4-5pm when the carer is arounf. This means my Gran who can barely walk must come out in the dark in her pyjamas to open for them and take the order.

I have tried to complain before but they do not have an international number and from the UK you cannot call an 0800 number, so I have just had to accept this is the shoddy service we have to put up with.

6 weeks ago I placed the normal weekly order but when I clicked submit it threw up yet another error. So i waited a day to see if it would go through and nothing happened so I re-did the order and chose the exact same delivery date and time. As far as I was concerned only one order went through - until the delivery arrived and the driver arrived with 2 of every product. My Gran naturally panicked at the volume of the delivery and told the driver something is wrong, he then took but what they thought was all the duplicated products leaving behind 3 items. The driver assured my gran they would credit her for all the items she is returning. Well.... to date we are still fighting to get the money back as Pick n Pay say we are lying they will only credit her for the 3 items they came back to collect as nothing was sent back with the driver on the day.

As once again I couldnt call my friend has tried her best to call Pick n Pay and get this matter resolved and she is a pensioner and does not have very much money. However no matter how much we have explained pick n pay are refusing to give her the R500 back and are offering R120 as a gesture of goodwill on her online account where they will take R90.00 back for the delivery fee!! So really they giving her R30.00!!

I think it is absolutely appalling and I would warn you to be very careful before using there online services especially for elderly people that do not have any extra cash.
