Another grudge purchase at Pick n Pay

Yet another poor experience at Pick n Pay. It was 11.30 a.m. on Monday and we shopped at the Somerset Mall branch of Pick n Pay. The "10 items or less" check-outs were unmanned, but the adjacent "staff till" was open. We queued with our 3 items at a regular check out. It looked as if the check-out lady was on a go-slow. She eventually greeted us but then continued with a conversation with the packer. As usual there was no management visible. I have given up complaining to Pick n Pay "customer care". There is no response and no follow up. Pick n Pay can throw as much money as they like in store modernization it will not solve an invisible store management and apathetic staff.
