Amazing manager

St Johns Pick n Pay in Howick, KZN. Yesterday I went through to Pick n Pay and while weighing my vegetables one of the staff members repeatedly asked me for my phone number even after I had said no multiple times. I brushed it off and carried on shopping, feeling rather annoyed. When I got back to work I shared my story and had found out that 3 other women in my company had been receiving the same treatment repeatedly to the point that they were scared to go back. I went through this morning to report it to a manger. When seeing that he was a man my stomach dropped, ready to be told "I am sure he was just joking" or what ever nonsense that I have received so many times before. I was pleasantly surprised that he took it extremely seriously and called it what it was. ***ual Harassment. He assured me repeatedly that all their staff members have it written into their contracts that they are not allowed to act in such ways and that they have meetings regarding these things. He assured me he would sort the problem out and that if we ever had an issue like this again he was happy for us to come straight to him and the staff member would be potentially fired.

I walked away unimpressed with Pick n Pay yesterday but after going back and speaking to the manager I was very impressed with the way he was so kind and helpful and extremely easy to talk to. I wish more people were like this.
