Allow your employees the day off to spend with their families on special public holidays.

I would like to give Pick n Pay a thumbs up for allowing their stores to reduce their opening hours on special public holidays, so that their employees can put their families first on those days. We as their customers have the majority of the days of the year to do our shopping, and it saddens me, for one, when I realise that on those special days when we can spend time with our families, certain chains like Checkers and Woolworths still insist on having their people at work from 8h00 to 20h00. Well done Pick n Pay for holding the value of family high for your employees. Although I am not conventionally religious, in principle I do not shop or support open stores on public holidays such as Christmas and New Year’s Day. More stores should follow the example of Pick n Pay!!!
