AIM mini stove and oven

I bought a AIM 2 plate stove & oven in October 2017. Three months later and we now have an item that when the plates are on, all one sees are sparks and when the oven is on, one sees what I think could be paint that has melted off and then leaves marks on the bottom of the oven.

This has been reported to the call centre and was then told that it would go in for repairs ...this I have an issue with as follows:

1: This was bought for a young couple who have started out on there own . They do not have money now to go out and buy another item in order to cook on while waiting for there stove to be repaired.

2: I am very sure that this mini stove came with a 1 year guarantee ...so why now am I being made to have it sent in...
