Accusing a customer of theft?
At approximately 17:10 I went and bought a few groceries from Pick n Pay Rosmead. I took with my own shopper bag and used it to put my groceries in instead of a basket whilst shopping as well. Reaching the till to unpack and pay, the lady does not even greet me, she simply says “What did you steel”. I was blown away by this and told her that she is making serious allegations. I proceeded to ask her how she would feel if I asked her the question.(whilst paying) She was shocked and said I can’t do something like that. So I asked her that it’s okay if she asks me a question like that but not for me to ask her that. She proceeded to say yes thats okay. I was fuming but did not make a scene. Is this a racial statement saying that it’s that she can accuse me of theft? But it would not be accepted the other way around? I expect Pick n Pay to contact me regarding this

A manager sent me an email claiming that he tried to call me twice but couldn’t get hold of me. I never received a call and I actually wonder if he is not just doing what is expected to tick the boxes for head office. I rep**** to his mail and never heard back again. I almost completely gave up on Pick and Pay as there has been numerous issues at this one with always being out of stock and not stocking certain brands(rather only stocking the pnp brand) but I visited a few other Pick and Pays and realised this is not the norm.
Anyway. Not satisfied with the way this matter was dealt with. If I was a black man that got accused of theft, this story would have been on the front page of the papers.
