Abusing and heckling elderly female pensioners

26th May 2024 I visited Somerset Mall with my pensioner mother and WOW, the verbal harassment and heckling we received from an unprofessional narcissist butchery manager called Anver, was astounding! This is the WORST in store experience I’ve ever had at any store!

The store just closed and we needed meat. My mother who was underdressed on the day, took meat from the fridge and the narcissistic discriminatory butchery manager decided to flex his pathetic management authority on my mother and told her “and that is that last!”, telling her in not so many words to take the meat and get out!

The totally disrespectful way in which this narcissist spoke to my elderly mother showed that he thought of her as an easy target that cannot retaliate against his management authority.

My mother responded to him and he kept on heckling her after everything she said to prove that he is the man and get the last word in! I am convinced that he would not have spoken to someone dressed in more expensive clothing or even a younger man! He chose a soft target and went with it for his amu*****t!

He kept on saying we should be out of the store as the store is closed, they're staff that belong there and they also want to go home . My mother was visibly upset and could have had a stroke and he stood there as smart ass showing that he would not be beaten, out argued, reprimanded or out done, and he is the one that’s going to win and get us out!.

When I told him to back off! He kept telling me don't tell me to back off ‘brother’ and put up a narcissistic show of manipulation when the other staff showed up, by grabbing a ladder and then putting himself behind the ladder to pretend as if he is in danger and then raising his voice to alert other people as if I’m going to harm him. Since when do you refer to a customer as your brother. It just shows you how lax he is and comfortable with doing this. Clearly does this often and his management has his back as management was supposed to call us but you love your staff and hate your customer's.

When we walked away he heckled my mother again that if anything happens to him that it will be on her head. He’s obviously used to traumatising and abusing women and you will regret it as I will share this to social media.

What sort of toxic manipulative people do you employ?! Our family has been shopping here since I was a child and I’m over 30 years old now. You have received close to R500 000.00 from my family alone when shopping at your stores and ASAP app.

I wonder what happens if I convince others to stop shopping in your stores because you abuse the elderly?

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at any store. He treated us like trespassers that he was determined to get off of his property! You are tenants in Somerset Mall and they deserve to know that your store is driving feet out of their mall and as a result other stores.

Your other unprofessional female employee said “these customers” after we walked and thought I couldn’t hear her.

We won’t be your customer’s anywhere.
