A series of unfortunate events
Over the last weekend, I visited the Constantia Village Pick 'n Pay where I'd always had excellent service. However on this occasion I experienced a number of problems:

(1) After visiting the bakery, upon returning home, I was surprised to find a cream doughnut in my box of doughnuts, which I did not ask for or want to purchase!
(2) More seriously, from the hot foods section I ordered three POTATO samoosas, two of which turned out to be BEEF, and all of which were ice-cold and stale. If I'd been a vegetarian, this would have been seriously upsetting, and not just annoying.
(3) I visited the butcher and asked for a cut of prime rib. To my surprise, when the meat was presented to me, it had been trimmed and dressed. I was never asked whether I wanted this. What I actually wanted was an undressed, untrimmed cut of meat. What I object to here is the assumption that you knew what I wanted and that I did not need to be asked. As a consequence, I did not purchase the meat.

Interestingly, I wrote an e-mail explaining all this to the Constantia Pick n Pay, but they didn't even give me the courtesy of acknowledging my response. I really think they need to improve their service.
