A bad day at Pick n' Pay.

Probably the worst Pick n' Pay I have ever come across (Summerstrand Village, Port Elizabeth).

To start off, the smart shopper self service kiosk machine never has receipts to issue because they never load the paper into the machines and the card swipe on the machine is not functional on both machines. One has to manually punch in their smart shopper account number in order to gain access.

Furthermore, I was very disgusted and disappointed when I found more than three packets of pasta and spaghetti that had these black insects inside the sealed packets, and these insects seemed to be alive as they were crawling inside the pasta. I decided to alert one of the employees who was mopping the floor about this matter and all she said to me, with a straight face, was ''go take another packet'', she then took the packet I was holding in my hand which I had shown her the insects.

What kind of service is this really? Is this how they treat all their customers? This is not the kind of service I would expect from Pick n Pay, one of my favorite food retailer, but then again I thought to myself that she (the employee) would have responded differently if I was of another ethnic group, or maybe if I was of an older age they would have taken me more seriously.

This branch needs to ensure excellent customer service and ensure quality products at all times, as It is 'inspired by us' , the customers.
