Do Not Trust Phonetradr – No Communication, No Payment, No Accountability
Phonetradr collected two of my iPhones in November 2024, which were listed on their platform for resale. Although I initially received offers from third parties through Phonetradr, the phones remained unsold for some time—or so I believed.
Then, after my post on 11 April 2025, I received confirmation from Phonetradr that both phones had in fact been sold. I was asked to resubmit my banking details, which I did immediately.
Since then, I have received no payment.
I have sent multiple follow-up emails, WhatsApp messages, and made repeated phone calls—all of which have been ignored. Phonetradr never responds. It's now been over 5 months, and I am still waiting for the money owed to me.
This complete lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable and feels like blatant theft. I will be reporting this matter to the:
National Consumer Commission South African Police Service Consumer Goods and Services Ombud I will also pursue legal action if necessary.
Do not trust this company with your devices. I expected a legitimate, professional service — instead, I’ve been left in the dark and out of pocket. Extremely disappointed.
