Warranty not upheld

I purchased a Phillips steam iron from Dischem Fourways mall on 3 July 2020. With a two year warranty. on 1 July 2022 it had stopped working and I returned it to Dischem who contacted Phillips who said they would repair the iron.and would collect it. On 1 September I phone Dischem as I had not heard from them and the operator said she would look into it and phone back. She duly phoned back the following day to report that Phillips would repair the iron at a cost of R295.00. The reason being that Phillips had collected it after the end of the warranty period. I am not satisfied with this as I had returned it within the period.
