Counterfeit shaving blades sold by Philips approved centre

It is with sadness I need to give a bad review about Philips as it is traditionally known as a reputable supplier. I went to the Eurostore in Woodmead to purchase SH50 shaving blades. The packaging looked suspiciously cheap ie non-Philips-like. When I questioned if they are OEM, I was assured 'yes, Philips changed their packaging'. The blades do not shave properly and after searching the www, I found out these are 3rd party chinese blades. I'm disgusted with the dishonesty from a Philips approved centre. I've been trying to report this problem to Philips directly but there's no *** to be found, only automatic 'bots' which require me to answer non-relevant questions.

Philips Sonicare failed within 24-month warranty, proof of purchase unavailable

I bought a Philips Sonicare toothbrush for about R1 500 at Dis-Chem, together with two lower-priced Oral-B brushes for my children. About 18 months later the Philips brush stopped working. It was one of the more expensive brushes on the shelf and was used normally at home. I contacted Philips and was told a till slip is required before they will look at a replacement. I no longer have that slip. Dis-Chem has since changed systems and says it cannot retrieve a transaction that far back, so neither of us can produce the original docket. Philips lists a 24-month warranty on Sonicare toothbrushes. This unit failed inside that period. I am asking Philips to assess the brush on the serial number or date code, and to repair or replace it. I am disappointed that an expensive brush has failed this early and that the claim is stuck only because a till slip from a year and a half ago cannot be reprinted. I would like this resolved with a replacement or repair under warranty. Model number: Sonicare G2, *** Failure: Not vibrating any more, motor dead

Shaver problems

In October 2023 I purchased a Philips Wet or Dry shaver Series 3000/ S3232/52. It came standard with a two year warranty. After thirty three months it could only supply three to four saves on a full battery. I handed it in at the recommended Philips repair agents in Woodmead Johannesburg for a repair quote. I was informed by the front desk that it was out of warranty and needs a new battery and it would most likely be uneconomical to repair. I contacted Philips Customer Care and received an email explaining that the warranty had expired and there was nothing they could help me with. All my previous Philips shavers lasted at least ten years or more. This particular model is a very poor product.

I want my money back

On the 21st of July I bought Philips 1000 Series Analog Airfryer 6.2L for R799 at PnP hyper Maponya Mall 14 days past and when I use it it automatically switches itself off before it finishes the job. When I take it back they said it means to be booked in for repair. What must happen in th meantime because I need to.make pies for my kids. I'm not happy

Faulty product

Faulty product and poor customer service I purchased a Philips steamer at Makro, and the product has been giving me headaches ever since. This steamer was not yet 6 months old when it stopped steaming, and the light flickered constantly. I returned to Makro Montague Gardens for a refund, which they refused, saying it needed to go back to the supplier. Apparently, they fixed it, and I had to go pick up the item. I picked it up, and it was just standing in the box for a few months because I had bought another iron in the interim. I decided to start using it again, and to my disappointment, the unit started tripping my electricity again. Steam was also intermittent, and the light switch was still not fixed. I returned to Makro again with the same story: the item must be booked in and returned to the supplier. I received a message from Makro two days ago that my item has been repaired. I went to the store to pick it up and waited for almost an hour because the steamer was nowhere to be found. Eventually, a lady assisted, saying that they had received the wrong item with my job card. I asked why I could not get a refund, as this item has been faulty from the start. I was only told it had been fixed and they would arrange delivery whenever it gets picked up, as I refuse to return to Makro. I am so disgusted with the service received at Makro and the service from the supplier in not replacing or refunding my faulty item. My concern is the fact that this unit has never worked properly, and what will happen when the warranty expires? I will be left with a faulty product costing me R2000. This is unacceptable.

Phillips steamer issues and no service by the company

I purchased a Philips garment steamer online for over R3,000, expecting a durable, high-quality product. Delivery was quick and efficient, which initially gave me confidence in the brand. However, within less than a year of use, the steamer developed a defect where the handle started lifting, making it unsafe to use. I returned the product while it was still well within the warranty period. Since then, the experience has been extremely frustrating. Philips has failed to provide any meaningful feedback or resolution. The only communication I received was an invoice, which makes no sense given that the product is still under warranty. When I responded to query this, there was no further communication — they simply disappeared. It is disappointing that a company can act so efficiently when selling a product but completely neglect its responsibilities when something goes wrong. It feels as though the warranty terms are ignored when it actually matters. I am still waiting for a proper response, repair, or replacement. At this point, both the product quality and after-sales service have not met expectations.

Faulty 5000 series steam iron - poor service from Philips

Good day. I am seriously disappointed in Philips. I bought a 5000 Series iron and the steam function is faulty. I spent ages talking to an agent on WhatsApp who refused to admit that the iron was faulty and kept giving me instructions to hold the iron vertically, to make sure there was water in the tank, check that it is on a steam setting, I need to empty and refill the tank because it is a new iron, to shake the iron back and forth to get it steam going. I decided to take it back to the shop I bought it from to replace it. They told me for that model specifically they cannot replace it they have to send it back to you guys. My comment was that you then obviously know there is a problem with this iron in particular and it should be removed from the shelves as this is seriously poor customer service. Now... I never spend more than R300 on an iron. I spent R1049 believing I am going big on quality. I now sit without an iron and I own an airbnb which requires daily ironing. How long will it take to send the iron back to Philips. How long for them to check it out and repair it and send it back. I really do not appreciate buying something brand new and having to have it repaired. It should be replace immediately without inconveniencing your customer. Period. This kind of service is absolutely shockingly poor.
