Waits for Guarantee to to expire
In December 2013 I purchased a Philips blender HR2027. I only use it in winters to make soup, and not even excessively. This winter, I took it out the box for soup. When we washed up, I took the jug off the fitting and put it in luke warm dishwater. Immediately it cracked on both sides of the plastic jug. I contacted Makro, who informed me that the jug does not fall under the guarantee and that the guarantee is for only 2 years and that I must purchase a new jug myself (AT THE SAME PRICE OF THE ORIGINAL WHOLE BLENDER). So I believe that Philips only makes electronics and consumables to last the exact time of the guarantee so that they can make more money in replacing items. Really disgusting.
I tried to contact the customer service center of Phillips, but there is never any answer.
I am really disgusted with Philips, as, if it was wear and tear or negligence, I would understand. But when a product breaks that is out of my control, or bad manufacturing, why must I incur additional costs to replace?
The least Phillips or Makro could have done was at least offer to inspect the jug / replace the jug. You would have then had another life time customer. Now I will NEVER buy Philips again
