Jamie Oliver Homecooker

We bought a Phillips Jamie Oliver Homecooker November 2014. When assembling the cooker, I read the instructions carefully. The cutting tower that's included in this model (HR1050/90) was a bit tricky. The instruction manual only gives you one step in connecting the blade to the cutting tower. <br> <br> I installed the julienne disc as I would usually clip in, seeing that the manual doesn't give any comprehensive details on how to do this exactly. I then julienned carrots, while doing this the cutter made allot of noise but I assumed it was the norm. I then discovered a piece of plastic in the julienned carrots. <br> <br> It turned out that the blade ate through a plastic piece on the inside of the lid of the cutting tower. I reviewed the instructions to see if I didn't miss anything, and I checked the cutting blade to see if I didn't install it incorrectly, but according to me I didn't. I then sent the unit in to a credited Phillips repair centre. They came back to say that I fitted the blade incorrectly and to repair the parts will cost over R1000!<br> <br> I feel Phillips should take responsibility and replace the damaged parts on their own costs because the instructions are not clear.. <br>
