2 bulbs broke

I purchased 10 Philips light bubls, that is supposed to have an 8 year life time, plus 8 times longer than a standard incandescent bulb. 11w 60.....a green and white box.<br> <br> I just took a bulb out and it was broken in the box.....thinking it had happened in the packet or on the way home. I merely threw it away. Then when I took the second bulb,out of the box, I checked it it looked perfect and went to insert into my lamp and it broke in my hand....splintering my hand and just dissolved like a piece of thin china......I was shocked.<br> <br> I am not sure whether I just got a bad batch of bulbs, as I have never ever had this happen to me ever inserting a light bulb into a small lamp.<br> <br> Please could someone let me know what is happening to the quality of Philips Light Bulbs as I have always thought they were the BEST quality to buy.
