Expired medication delivered to customer.

I am totally disappointed by Pharmacy direct. They delivered expired medication and I phoned complaining about it and I got extremely disappointing response. One of the ladies told me that I can drink the expired medication as there is nothing wrong. I sent pictures of the expired medication through emails and even spoke to the pharmacists but I never got any help. To make things worse, they made claims to my medical aid for medication I never received. They exhausted my medical aid for nothing. I am honestly disappointed.

Dear member  Pharmacy Direct confirms that a Fund Account Manager has been in contact with you to assist on your complaint that has been lodged. As discussed a detailed investigation would be done, we will then be in contact to provide you with feedback. After several attempts we have not been able to reach you, please find the below feedback on the complaint that has been raised.  The medication that Pharmacy Direct dispensed to you in May and June 2018 was not expired when the treatment was dispensed and delivered, we refer to the date that the treatment was claimed, delivered and the expiry date of the medication below:  May 2018 : Medication claimed from scheme 17 May 2018, delivered 22 May 2018, medication expiry date September 2018. June 2018: Medication claimed from scheme 13 June 2018, delivered 19 June 2018, medication expiry date November 2018.  We confirm that upon delivery of the medication, the medication provided only expired within the following 4-5 months. The treatment was prescribed by your physician to be taken on a daily basis, therefor to be compliant the medication needs to be taken as prescribed.  As the deliveries you are referring to was done in May and June 2018, you only contacted Pharmacy Direct in October 2018 to query the expiry dates of the medication.  As further discussed, in the event that certain medication is no longer being taken by yourself or you have excess stock , please contact Pharmacy Direct to place the treatment on hold.  Kind regards  Pharmacy Direct team
