Windscreen damage, non-response

I took my car in to PG Glass Paarl on Wednesday, 23 December to repair a minor chip on my windscreen. I left with my wife's car to pick up my own when ready. The key was taken without any further comment. After I eventually called to check up on the progress, two hours later, I was informed that the minor chip created a crack in the windscreen when they started the fix and that I should collect the car as it was held at owners risk.

I was not informed of any risks or possible repercussions pertaining to the procedure when I left the car there. I am not a glass fitter, so I don't know the procedure to fix a chip, nor should I need to know beforehand. Any service provider should explain the risks before undertaking any work which could put the client in any kind of risk. There should not be any \assumed "understanding from the service provider's side. I would not have had the windscreen fixed had I have known that it could possibly crack.

Furthermore I have given the owner almost a week to contact me. I have still not heard anything from them even after calling numerous times. This \""pass the buck\"" attitude is exactly why so many people prefer not to do business with PG Glass"""

Hello Cutterbrendon,

I do apologies for the service from the Fitment Centre.

The complaint has been escalated to the Owner to investigate.

As per our discussion, as soon as I have feedback from the Owner, I will revert back to you.

Kind Regards
PG Glass Head Office

Best regards,
