PG GLASS SANDTON / DENT IN SIDE PANEL OF MY CAR

I would like to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unacceptable service I received from PG Glass, who were appointed by Discovery Insure to replace my vehicle windscreen.

The experience has been extremely poor and has resulted in damage to my vehicle, for which PG Glass is now failing to take responsibility.

The sequence of events is as follows:

PG Glass initially installed the incorrect windscreen and subsequently had to remove it to install the correct one.

During this process, they broke the windscreen clips and instead of replacing them, they siliconed the windscreen into place, leaving a messy and unprofessional finish.

I later returned once the correct clips were available so that the job could be rectified.

When they removed the silicone and windscreen, they caused a large dent to the side panel of my vehicle.

PG Glass staff attempted to convince me that the damage was “acceptable”, which I strongly disagreed with and raised immediately with the branch manager.

I was then instructed to obtain a repair quotation at my own cost, as PG Glass indicated they would pay for the damage.

I obtained a panel beater quote (over R4,000) and submitted it to PG Glass. Since then, I have received no response and no resolution.

This entire experience has been highly unprofessional and has left me with vehicle damage caused directly by your appointed service provider.

I believe Discovery Insure has a responsibility to intervene and ensure that:

PG Glass is held accountable for the damage they caused, and

The full cost of repairs is covered without further delay.

It is unacceptable that I should suffer financially due to negligence by a Discovery-approved supplier.

I request urgent assistance and written confirmation on how this matter will be resolved.
