Damage to vehicle during windscreen replacement

I own an eight year old vehicle in mint condition.<br> In February 2009 I had the windscreen replaced by PG Glass Sea Point.<br> A few weeks ago I noticed some rust spots appearing just above the windscreen of the vehicle.<br> I have just paid R6 000 to have the rust removed and the entire roof of the vehicle repainted.<br> The reason for the rust was also obvious to see:<br> During the removal process of the windscreen the windscreen was cut out by pushing a wire through the rubber from the inside to the outside of the vehicle and a sawing action is used along the length of the rubber.<br> The remaining (glued on) rubber was obviously sc***** off using a sharp tool. Either way any such process would also remove body paint from the vehicle on the inside of the vehicle's windscreen frame.<br> With time and moisture the frame begins to rust.<br> This was confirmed by the owner/manager of the panel repair shop.<br> I am not seeking compensation.<br> I am writing this as I know that the method used by PG Glass to extract windscreens which are glued in place, is flawed.<br> It is unacceptable that vehicles are damaged in this manner and car owners such as myself have to endure additional expenditure due to poor workmanship.<br>
