2 years on-still driving with "blown head gasket" as diagnosed by Peugeot Fourways

2 years ago I made the fateful mistake to drive my perfectly well car for a scheduled service at Peugeot Fourways. I wish I never did that. After fetching is the car was smocking and lack of power, I returned few times with all different "diagnosis" . What come clear to me is either they "switched" my Turbo or they somehow tempered with it. There was a leak from the cooling pipes of the Turbo, and clear dents on the radiator, most probably because the heat shield of the turbo was taken off. Non of this actions were required to do Oil, Air filter replacement, Spark plugs etc that was included in the Service .. After me making a bit noise and querying those abnormalities, They replaced the radiator and the coper washers at their cost. But they did not provide me with reasonable answer how and why this damages accrued.. Putting the dots together and taking the consideration that the car came few times with "Turbo UInderboost" error scanned with my ODB2 scanner, It all pointed to one spot in the engine.. Turbo charger. They denied all allegations(For what I did not have concrete proof) I asked for CCTV footage of the workshop from the fateful day, But I was told they don't have any.. After phoning Peugeot SA, with no response, I posted in Hellpeter .. Then Peugeot SA responded (Thanks Hellopeter) and suggested that Peugeot Fourways has new floor manager and he will sort my problem- I did not want to go for 6th time there , but the Consumer relation agent from Peugeot SA convinced me to give a try. I went and spoke with the "new" manager , he sounded like concern about my allegations, I showed him the pictures of the dents, leakages, etc.. He suggested to bring the car for detailed assessment, and he will overlook the process. Guaranteed .. I told him that I don't feel confident in the crafmanship or honesty of the staff. But he insisted to give him a chance to prove me wrong. So I gave up and left the car. As I expected, I received call next day, about midday, with a assessment results and a "quote". "Aparently" the reason for the car not having power is because the head gasket is leaking into one of the cylinders(No detail which cylinder) and they need to do Overhaul the engine, which apparently Peugeot SA refused to cover (surprise surprise- They knew that is smoke screen), So it will cost me around R16K .. On which I laughed, The lady that phoned me asked me why I laughed , I said because I did expect similar outcome.. I could not believe they are taking me for ride again with all promises from Peugeot SA and the manager. The manager did not even had a courtesy to speak to me .. Like we never talked a day before. With all his assurances. I did a counteroffer: If I accept the quote and as you say The Overhaul of the engine( head gasket replacement ..) is the problem, IF the car is not back to the condition I brought it in.. You will refund me, and fix it at your expense,, And what do you think the service desk lady said? "No , we cant accept this conditions" .. And you know why? Because they knew that it is all smoke screen and the exorbitant price was just for me not to agree.. An Turbo price, excluding labour is around R22-25K..

So T took my car, and believe it or not I've been driving it ever since with "BLOWN UP GASET" No Oil mixing with water or water with oil as one can expect .. Vacuum levels at Idling are steady at 18 in/Hg (normal for Gauteng Altitude)

Yes , Its still lacking power as Turbo underperforms, But the smokescreen just proves more and more..

So my Fellow drivers.. Don't always buy the mechanics arguments even if they use big words you don't understand.. They just trying to pull wool over your eyes..

Dot be afraid to ask, and get second opinion.. Some mechanics/manager are cruel when comes to poor souls in need of help..

I feel sorry for Peugeot France, If they just knew how their subsidiary in SA is run?? No wander their cars can't compete in popularity , despite they are so good..

Thank you for phoning me , but it is a bit too little to late.. Peugeot SA did not take any action TWO years ago when the incident occurred , My post was just to prove that IU was ********** and with the silence and inactivity of the Peugeot SA , kind of supports their dealership action..
Suggesting to go to Motor Industry Ombudsman .. means exactly that you don't care.
Yes I said I don't expect nothing from you because I know that asking my car to be as I brought it into the dealership 2 Years ago, is unrealistic for me..
They haven done it then so how I can expect any different now.
The fact s that their attempt to **** me, and rip me off with a wrong "assessment" did not work, My car still working
I see other comments , similar experiences.. So SATAY AWAY FROM Peugeot dealership.
If your car is out of Warranty, Do it yourself or find some one that might know Peugeot cars.. You definitely will get better treatment..
