Owners of the Landtrek, 2008, 3008, C3 and C4 Cactus report repeat gearbox, engine, suspension and electrical failures on near-new vehicles, lengthy warranty claims, unauthorised or incomplete service work, and parts that never arrive. Communication is the loudest complaint, with customers chasing feedback from George, Midrand, Fourways and Port Elizabeth dealers themselves. The single bright note was excitement about the Citroen Basalt launch, dimmed only by unavailable colour options.

Peugeot Landtrek 1.9D (NEVER BUY THIS VECHILE)

Car: Peugeot Landtrek 1.9D Summary: Awful, frustrating, no communication, delays upon delays. Keep Stellantis/Peugeot accountable and check how many sections they are in breach of the CPA (Consumer Protection Act), please contact your lawyer and take action. We have to keep them accountable. This was my experience with Stellantis. My car lost it first gearbox/transmission on 8000 km, the aircon relay cracked on 29 000km, the second gearbox broke on 37 800 km. One would imagine that they would be accommodating after the second gearbox/transmission broke. Filters were not replaced after service as well. To put the statement above in perspective, I drove my previous car for 12 years, without any problems. The car had 236 000 km on the odometer. I called, e-mailed etc. They never come back to you or state the excuse of we were about to contact you. I had to follow up myself every 3rd day, phoning them to get feedback, each day the timeline shifted and they over promised. This is HORRRRRIBBBLLLEEE... Wish Hallopeter had 0 stars.

THE PAPER WORK DONT LIE, I HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN MY POSESSION. CHRIS NEVER DECLARED TO ME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. CHRIS, INGRID AND I HAD A MEETING WHEREBY THEY WILL LOOK TO HELP ME FIND ANOTHER VECHILE MEANING FOR THE SAME VALUE I PURCHASED IT. IT WAS BACK SO MANY TIMES I CAN NOT KEEP COUNT OF IT ANYMORE. CHRIS SEND ME A VEHICLE BUT WE MUST PAY IN A R100 000 AFTER WE JUST SETTLE THE VEHICLE. HILTON SEND ME SUCH AM UGLY EMAIL NO MANNERS HE SHOULD NOT OWN A DEALERSHIP IF HE HAS NO MANNERS AND BEHAVE LIKE THAT WITH CUSTOMERS. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING. CHRIS TRIED TO HIDE EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING. THIS CAR WAS HIT ON THE LEFT SIDE WHERE THE PETROL TANK IS AND THE ROOF WAS ALSO PANELBEATED. ALL THE PANELS ARE DIFFERENT COLOURS, THE RUBBERS IN THE PEUGEOT ENGINE HAVE NOT BEEN PROPERLY FITTED. THE 208 ALLURE 1.2 PURETECH THEY SOLD TO EZAUTO FIRST BUT WE RENTED THE VECHILE NOW WE OWN THE VEHICLE, WE TRIED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS THEY LOOK AT IT AND SAY NO THANKS. I FEEL THEY MUST TAKE THEIR VEHICLE BACK AND PAY BACK MY MONEY WE PAID R125 000 FOR IT. THEN THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED IF THEY DON'T DO THAT, THEY WILL BE SUMMONSED, I WILL NAME AND SHAME THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I ALREADY REPORTED THEM TO THE NCR, NCC AND IS BUSY WITH MIOSA AS WELL. THEY WILL HAVE TO PAY THE LAWYERS COSTS AND ALL THE STRES I WENT THROUGH AS I HAVE AN INCURABLE DISEASE, WE WANT THEM TO PAY AND PAY!!

Extremely low quality workmanship from Kelston Port Elizabeth

I had a extremely bad experience with Kelston Port Elizabeth were I sent my Citroen C4 cactus in for a engine warranty claim. Not just did it take 8 months but every time they say I must come fetch the vehicle there was problems and gave back . After the engine replace I fetch it there was a problem from dashboard lights on, clutch problems ,no power problems ECT ECT ECT. I eventually received it back back on acceleration it'll show vehicle to be repaired message but didn't log a fault to eventually I found not just pressure side of turbo sucked in but later vehicle cut out on bussy main road. To my horrors after checking what was problem I found electric connection plugs broken, pipes miss Alignment broken off bolt and bolts missing, battery cover and turbo guard missing and not my battery and battery box lose , ABS sensor just pushed in with no securing bolt ECT ECT ECT. Even the new wheel covers clips are missing. This is the most pathetic repairs and workmanship I've ever came across and I can say this because I am a mechanic for over 36 years. I know Citroen and Peugeot have extremely high standards as I work on them for my clients and hope Peugeot Citroen SA have the same high standards

Service Performed Without Authorization, Ongoing Vehicle Concern Ignored and No Follow-Up

**Service Performed Without Authorization, Ongoing Vehicle Concern Ignored and No Follow-Up** PEUGEOT GEORGE YORK STR I own a Citroën C3 that was purchased in March 2025 and is covered by a service plan. This year was due to be the vehicle's third and final service. Last year, when the vehicle went in for its previous service, I was advised by a staff member not to leave the next service too long after the due date because service plans sometimes reject claims if the service is done late. A few weeks ago, while driving, a spanner warning light and other orange warning lights appeared on my dashboard. Although the lights disappeared after I restarted the vehicle, I was concerned. In addition, both my sons had commented that the automatic gearbox did not seem to be functioning correctly and that the gears appeared to be "jumping". This gearbox concern was not a new issue. I had raised concerns about the gearbox during previous services and was repeatedly told that there was nothing wrong with it. However, the problem persisted, which is why I was particularly concerned when the warning lights appeared. Because of these concerns, I arranged for the vehicle to be taken to the dealership. My son was initially informed that it was too early for a service. He then explained the gearbox issue, and the vehicle was booked in. Later that afternoon, I received a call informing me that the vehicle had already been serviced, but that the service plan had declined to pay because the service was done too early. I was then informed that I would be responsible for paying approximately R3,400. My complaint is not that the service plan rejected the claim. My complaint is that the dealership proceeded with the service without first confirming whether the service plan would cover the cost and without obtaining my authorization should the claim be declined. If there was any uncer*****y regarding payment, the dealership should have confirmed this before carrying out the service. Had I been informed that I would personally be liable for the cost, I could have made an informed decision about whether to proceed with the service immediately or wait until the appropriate time. When I explained that one of the reasons the vehicle was brought in was because of the gearbox problem, which could potentially lead to a very costly repair if left unresolved, I was simply told that this was not part of the service plan and that it was a maintenance and diagnostic matter. While I understand that diagnostics may be handled separately, this completely missed the point. Had I been informed beforehand that I would be liable for the service cost, I could have chosen to have only the gearbox issue investigated rather than having a service performed that was ultimately not covered by the service plan. I was subsequently informed that there is apparently a fault with the stop-start system and that a replacement part would need to be ordered. However, despite now being more than a week later, I have received absolutely no feedback regarding the part, whether it has been ordered, when it is expected to arrive, or what the next steps will be. When I collected the vehicle and raised my concerns, the staff member who had booked the vehicle in was dismissive and repeatedly responded with, "But I told you it was too early." In my opinion, that completely misses the issue. Being told that it is too early for a service is not the same as authorizing a service at my own expense. Before leaving the dealership, a manager approached me, introduced himself and asked me to explain the entire situation from the beginning. After listening to my concerns, he assured me that he would investigate the matter and contact me the following Monday. It has now been more than a week later, and I have not received any feedback whatsoever regarding his investigation, the stop-start fault, the replacement part that allegedly needs to be ordered, or the concerns I raised. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication, the poor customer service, the dismissive attitude I experienced, the failure to properly address an issue that I had previously reported, and the fact that chargeable work was carried out without my authorization. At no point was I given the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether I wanted to proceed with a service at my own expense or only have the gearbox fault investigated. I would appreciate a response explaining why the service was performed before confirming payment responsibility, why my previous concerns about the gearbox were repeatedly dismissed, and why the promised follow-up and feedback have still not taken place. Peugeot 2008 1.2T A/T – Constant Repairs Since Brand New

I bought a brand new Peugeot 2008 1.2T A/T in 2022, but the vehicle started giving problems when it was only 2 months old. Since then, it has been in and out of the dealership almost every year for serious repairs and breakdowns, sometimes multiple times a year excluding routine servicing. The vehicle has already undergone major repairs, including an engine replacement, yet I continue to experience further mechanical issues and breakdowns. At this point, the car has spent more time at the dealership than with me as the owner. The expenditure on repairs over time is now close to, or may even exceed, the value of the vehicle itself. A brand new vehicle should not leave customers stranded every year. The stress, inconvenience, uncer*****y and loss of confidence in the vehicle have been unbearable. I believe Peugeot South Africa needs to take accountability for what has become an ongoing and recurring defect issue.

Broken promises and disappointing service.

I paid for parts at Williams Hunt Fourways for my Peugeot 3008, promised 3-5 ETA which was not met but rather received an SMS to bring the car for booking which I assumed the part has arrived after speaking to Karin. I brought the car in the next morning to my surprise I was told the part hasn't arrived but opted to leave the car and for the dealer principal to call me which never happen. Today is day 6 Karin called with no ownership other than the part is not there, did not apologize for the inconvenience or committed to resolution on Monday as the parts manager must guide, terrible experience I own a 3008 and 2008 and with the dealer not fully replacing service parts at last interval and not disclosing I am considering walking away from the brand. I would not recommend this dealership as the service department is ***********.

Peugeot Landtrek- Most unreliable, unsafe, falsely marketed and advertised bakkie ive ever bought

Most unreliable, unsafe, falsely advertised and marketed bakkie ive ever bough: 3 companies involved here, thus will write this review to all 3: namely Westvaal Motor Group Rustenburg, Stellantis, Peugeot George. I Purchased on 29 Aug 2025 through dealership financing a brand new facelift Peugeot Landtrek AT 4x4 double cab from this dealership in Rustenburg. VIN:VR3FDAHDYS***; Engine: 55Z*** From 2500km we have encountered MULTIPLE breakdowns and issues on this vehicle for which i will provide the lists of emails, what's ups, telephone calls between myself, Adriaan (after sales George), Innocent and his supervisors at STELLANTIS(warranty division) and Hannes (salesman) Jannie Stroh(Dealer Principle) from Westvaal Rustenburg I reside in George Western Cape thus take my vehicle to Peugeot George for assistance. Adriaan is the ONLY person trying to assist with this matter but believe he is NOT getting the support from Peugeot SA, Westvaal, Stellantis. Here are the shocking issues with the vehicle: 1)Total rear suspension failure- cant load more than 300kg then knocks through, thus not as per dealer spec sheet 1020kg-1050kg. This renders this vehicle TOTALLY ineffective and inadequate to use on the farm for which i purchased it. Vehicle totally unstable on road, especially gravel roads, vehicle drifts and feels like its going to overturn. 2) rear shock failure 3)front suspension failure knocking through- new issue 4)tail gate latch faulty, cant open or close 5)total electronic shutdown and failure while driving- 3 times now 6)fuel range incorrect calibration and display, vehicle cuts out between 100km and 83km left on display. 2 incidents of my wife and children stranded next to road side. required to call out breakdown services to jumpstart vehicle and reset engine light display. 7)poor braking capability, seems to be same in rest of fleet 8)center display flashing and flickering or dies while driving 9)driver side wiper not removing water off windshield 10)keys and locking issues initially I work outside of SA thus purchased a brand new vehicle to ensure peace of mind, reliability and functionality with my family. This is not the case, as all three these companies have accepted in their poor attempt, delay tactics, negating from responsibilities, put my family in grave danger, discomfort, stranded alongside the road (wife and daughters-THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE). The vehicle totally cutting out in the Outeniqua mountain pass- TOTALLY UNACCEPTALBE. I refuse to accept the liability place on us as the customer. I have requested multiple times for Peugeot to please refund me my money, settle the financing and take the vehicle back into their stock whereby they have time to fix it and not constantly place this inconvenience on me. The excuse is they must first see if its not fixable before making that decision but have NOT ONCE provided me with any alternative vehicle to continue with my business every time there is an issue and tests or repairs must be done. This i have been requesting all along with empty promises and excuses not to take back this DUD they force me to use it as I'm destitute without a vehicle required daily. This is another delay tactic to allow the vehicle to run past the demo kilometers of 12500km then they cant just take it back onto floor. To this day i have NOT received a report on the condition of the repairs, the ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS conducted for these factory faults and how they will be fixed and prevented to happen again. I am utterly fed-up with the support and quality of this brand Peugeot and implore all forums and platforms within the motor vehicle industry, social media, news to make use of this factual evidence to think wisely before every considering purchasing endless problems and putting their own and other families on the roads in danger. I always ask the other persons to put themselves in my shoes and what would they accept and tolerate. My aim here is only to return the defective vehicle, get a refund and move on with my journey with a reliable working vehicle. This has been a ongoing request for 6 months now. Another delay tactic to exceed the return period if one is not satisfied with the finance or sale agreement. Welcome to call me to discuss and interview me on facts. *** Regards Quinton Chuter
