Thinking of buying a Peugeot DON’T

Thinking of buying a Peugeot DON’T, not only is the workmanship from their workshops (Fourways) not up to standard but their back up service is not even of a 3rd word standard. My car came back from a service from Peugeot Fourways at a cost R3783, 00 with a broken breather pipe and the oil levels filled way over the recommended levels. I only discovered this once I drove the car and it smelled like oil in the car, I first thought that the workshop just split some oil on the manifold, to my disgust when I open the bonnet I discovered the above. I phoned the service advisor, Joo-Ann Ford ,and she asked me to bring the car in. I did so and they drained some of the oil out and taped up the breather pipe with insulation tape, as they did not have a breather pipe in stock and this could take up 30 days to get one. Not the workshop manager or the service advisor apologized for the inconvenience and for the bad workmanship. I also told them that the engine warning light came on with a message saying antipollution fault, they assured me this was due to the broken breather pipe. It turn out to be an ECU problem, as water got into the ECU box (I broke down in Harrismith on my way to Durban and had to be towed home). This can only happen when the car engine is cleaned, I cannot say it was caused by Peugeot Fourways, but I have never cleaned my car engine. Once again Peugeot does not have the part in stock and take up to 8 weeks at a cost of R22,000.00. The car also need to have the air-con compressor to be replace and once again they did not have stock. They said this can take up to 30 days to get the part. That was on 07 August and up and until today, I cannot get a timeline out of the service advisor Joo-Ann Ford. (05/10/2018) when the air-con compressor will arrive. Not having any joy with Joo-Ann, I tried to get hold of the Dealer Principal Gary Bakos. I left two messages as I wanted to discuss the ECU issue and the service I have been getting . I also send a mail to Joo-Anne to asked Gary to give me a call. I even spoke to Peugeot Head office and they said they will get Gary to give me a call. I am still waiting for his call. I can go on, But all I can do is warn you if you are thinking of buying a Peugeot, think again. The old stories you heard that they don’t carry stock is still true and don’t believe their new marketing campaigns
