Shocking parts supply timelines

I find it highly disturbing and disappointing that a brand with some of the best vehicles on the road today, is also the brand with the worst parts supply system in the world. On the 4th of December 2018, my Peugeot 208 went in for repairs after a minor accident in which a vehicle hit the back of me and pushed me into the car in front, resulting in the front and rear bumpers, rear lights, and other minor parts needing to be replaced. These parts were ordered and arrived in early February, a shocking 2 months later. These were fitted and I went to collect the vehicle in the middle of Feb. On inspecting the repairs, I noticed that the seatbelts were not replaced and were still “stuck”. These then had to be ordered. I was told they would arrive in 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks had passed, I contacted the panel beater to get a progress report on the repairs, only to find out that there had been a mix up and the parts had not been ordered. Again, in early March these parts had to be reordered, with a new ETA of 6 weeks! At this point I contacted Peugeot South Africa’s customer service centre and asked for assistance and clarification as to why the parts are taking so long. They managed to get an improved deadline for the 24th of April with the promise of keeping me up to date if there were any changes. They didn’t. On the 24th, I contacted them to find out if the part had arrived. They said there was a delay and the part would arrive on the 27th, a Saturday. Again, on the Monday, with no feedback from them, I had to again contact them to find out again what is happening. Again, they said there was a delay until the 6th. On the 6th, I was told the 10th. Today, the 10th, I have been told the 17th. This has been going on now for 6 months, with constant delays and empty promises made by PSA.

My 208 is honestly the best car I have ever driven and I love it, however I will never buy another Peugeot if these are the kind of issues I will have to face. I will also be notifying all contacts on social media of my issues and will strongly advise anyone against buying a Peugeot if this issue is not resolved.
