Peugeot - Horrible parts supply service!!!!
I was involved in a minor car accident on the 3rd of July 2023. I phoned my insurance (Momentum) who was happy to help. I received prompt service from them. However, from there my experience just went downhill. The car stood at Auction Nation for almost a week waiting to be assessed. Then it was sent to Durban Panelbeaters. It took another week to for the car to get stripped and reassessed and parts ordered. This in my experience was normal.
Here's the rub though - Peugeot was only able to supply some of the parts. The first lot took about three weeks. When I enquired from the panelbeaters how long it will take for the rest of the parts to arrive, they told me minimum another two weeks. Then the repairs will take another two weeks. This works out to nearly 3 months that I will be without a vehicle!!
This is an absolute nightmare. My work requires me to be on standby for theatre emergencies. God forbid what will happen if and when I do get called out and are unable to get to the hospital in the middle of the night. I provide imaging for surgeons and they basically can't do their job properly without imaging.
I reached out to Peugeot SA for help. Their representative Nhlanhla Ngwenya responded by telling me what the panelbeater already told me. That the parts will take another 3 weeks. How is that helping me????
I reached out to Momentum to see if the are willing to help with a further assistance i.r.t a courtesy vehicle and was told that there's nothing they can do.
The irony is that Peugeot is aware of this deficiency and even boast on their website that they have eliminated the issue!! What a load of nonsense. I've been with GM for nearly 20 years and has never had such ********** service. This is the last time I will ever buy a GM vehicle, more specifically PEUGEOT!!
