Managing Director of Peugeot, Fransisco Gaie doesn't like talking to mere customers
I bought a Peugeot (Poojoe) 3008 privately in 2014. I called the Cape Town dealership from where it was purchased (Mikor owned) to check the service plan. I was told the next service was August 2015 and all was good with the vehicle. I purchased said vehicle. I live in Mossel Bay so I called Poojoe George to double-check the next service date, August 2015. August 2015, I booked the car in for service - all good. August 2016, I booked the car in for service - all good. August 2017 I booked the car in for service - all good......and then.....not good. After the car was taken to the workshop and stripped ready for service ( I know this because it took over 30 minutes to get the car ready for me after they rejected the service plan 'service'), I was told that the warranty had expired in April 2017.
After loooong discussions and me being the culprit, it was discovered that the first August date given to me by George was taken from the Poojoe computer records. Apparently the Cape Town Poojoe dealership had input the wrong date - my fault- obviously. Well, while Poojoe's non-K....S.... department is not using those exact words, they refuse to honour the service plan. They say all services were late as per the April date (so they can interpret a calendar) , which nobody ever told me. I asked them how I should have known that. Still no answer. At the moment, I am waiting one more day for them to provide an answer I can understand (my French isn't too good) before I escalate either to the Ombudsman, or go the legal route.
You know what irks me the most about this? 1. They are in grave danger of losing 2 customers FOR EVER, as my son and I might NEVER buy another Poojoe and the service cost to them can't be more than a few thousand rand.
And what irks me the mostest is 2. as per other Poojoe reviews on this platform, the MD (I was going to add Main ****, but I won't for now) has refused to call me back. I left 3 separate messages on 3 separate days.
His name is Fransisco Gaie! When I asked the receptionist to spell his surname, she said he said (yes, that's right, "she said he said" - I think it's their new corporate slogan) that you pronounce his name like "baie" in Afrikaans, except with a G. Well I certainly didn't feel (g)baie understanding from him nor his KS department. Tomorrow......resolution or revolution - the French kind!!
