DUD Car , disgusting service and disgruntle customer

the current situation the car in PMB and sends me a quote to pay again yet under warranty car not even 2 years old this is the 5th time , as for Peugeot SA no help and rude

My email to you is due to me running out of options and not receiving the customer service due under the circumstance. There is a long history to this but I will summarise below.

I have owned two Peugeot’s before this and this is now my third Peugeot. So clearly I am a supporter of the brand and like driving Peugeots.

I purchased a Peugeot GTI in September 2015 from Peugeot Northcliff, Gauteng.

At a mileage of 3,000 kilometres I had problems with the selecting gears and broke down in cosmo city, the car had to be towed to the dealership. The fault stated at that time was clutch and was replaced.

Again at 10,000 kilometres had the same problem occurred. The car was taken in and the fault stated was clutch. This was replaced.

Again at 16000 kilometres the same problem occurred. Clearly this is a consistent fault on the car but the dealership did not want to replace under the warranty and claimed to be my fault. This time the car was at Peugeot Fourways for from Dec 2015 to Jan 2016, then again May 2016 . This cannot be my fault as it was a consistent problem since 3000 kilometres. I have been driving since 2000 and have never had any clutch issues on my car. So I was paying instalments on a car that I could not use as it was Peugeot Fourways and not released by them as the dealership wanted me to pay for the repair. I had no car to use so after the car stayed for so many months at Peugeot, I had to pay for the release of the car as I had no other option.

Now the mileage is on 22280ks and I have the same problem with the car again. The car broke down again whilst on the way from Durban to Johannesburg on Sunday, 4th June. I could not select gears again and once again had to get the car towed. This time the car was taken to Peugeot Pietermaritzburg as that was the closest option. The car has been at this dealership since Monday 5th June for inspection and fault finding. In the meantime I have not received any help to get a courtesy car and have to find a way to get to work and back during the week. I have been notified today that the fault is again the clutch and the case manager, Bheki , claims that this is not covered under the warranty as this is my fault. The cost to repair has been quoted as approximately R20,000 rand and I have been told that I have to pay for this myself. I have already paid R 15000 out of duress the last time and that was not an admission of fault (see emails attached), it was so I can get the car back

As you can see this has been a consistent issue with the car since 3,000 kilometres and this cannot be due to my driving. There is something wrong with this car and this needs to fixed and covered under the warranty. I hope you can appreciate the frustrated position I am in from driving a car that is still very new as you can see from the mileage and has continually had this issue.

I am sure that you will see the value in resolving this for a trusted supporter of the brand who is clearly not receiving the customer service that should be received in this circumstance. This is clearly a fault with the car that continues to occur and should be repaired under the warranty.

Something needs to be done at your level to intervene and resolve this matter under the warranty.

I trust you will respond to this matter with urgency and assist to get my car repaired and returned to me.

My contact details are: email: ********** cell number 076 ********** .

Thank you

Kind regards

Peugeot customer

Mrs A Nydoo

Contact details

076 **********

N:B I have emails from Sept 2015

Thank you for agreeing to look into this matter on my co-Director, Alicia Nydoo’s behalf (please bill Surge Technology, on the CD client-list)

My business partner and co-Director Alicia Nydoo acquired her 3rd Peugeot, a 208 GTI on 7 September 2015 from Peugeot Northcliff. The BRAND NEW car was a pleasure to drive until 2 months later when it broke down one night on 20 Nov 2015 en-route to Lanseria Airport.

She called Roadside assistance and her car was collected later that night and taken to Peugeot Fourways (see attached pics/report/quote below)

Both Peugeot SA and Peugeot-Fourways argued at that time that Alicia had damaged the clutch which they repaired and billed her R15,052 for.

She collected the car from Peugeot Fourways on 2 Dec 2015 and immediately detected continuing problems with the clutch, prompting her to return the car to them again the next day on 3 Dec 2015.

Peugeot provided her with a courtesy car over Christmas and New Year whilst they undertook gearbox repairs at their own cost, this time (report/bill attached). It would appear that the clutch damage/failure on 20 November 2015 (2 months after purchase was due to a latent gearbox defect, and NOT due to driver negligence as had been asserted by Peugeot)

On 11th Jan 2016 she collected her car (which had been repaired to the tune of over R21,000 at Peugeot’s expense) and was alarmed in May 2016 (last month) when the clutch/gearbox noises re-appeared!

She now took the car to Peugeot Northcliff (whom she had originally purchased it from in Sep 2015) and they advised that during the Dec 2015 repair undertaken by Peugeot Fourways/Mayfair Gearbox they had used a pirate part, so further repairs were undertaken at Puegeot’s cost by Peugeot Northcliff and her car was returned to her almost 2 weeks later.

Once again the clutch/gearbox noises were detectable and so Alicia handed her car back in to Peugeot Northcliff on 27 May, where it remains (see their correspondence below dated 2nd & 3rd June)

Her stance now is that she either wants

1) a full refund, including the R15,052 she was strong-armed into paying for ‘clutch failure' in Nov 2015, OR

2) a BRAND NEW replacement vehicle plus the R15,052

i.t.o. the CPA, as it is clear that the vehicle she purchased has a latent defect/factory fault iro the clutch/gearbox, which is either unique to her car, or in fact a model-wide latent defect affecting other 208’s/GTI’s too

Your assistance in communicating her demands to Peugeot SA, Peugeot Northcliff & Peugeot Fourways would be appreciated

sincerely

Premesh Narismulu & Alicia Nydoo

**********

TIMELINES

date of purchase/collection: 7 Sep 2015

date of breakdown en-route to Lanseria: 20 Nov 2015

date car collected from Peugeot Fourways: 2 dec 2015

date car returned to Peugeot Fourways: 3 Dec 2015

date car collected from Peugeot Fourways: 11th Jan 2016

date car handed-in to Peugeot Northcliff: 3rd May 2016

Date received it back : week and half later

Date taken back to Peugeot Northcliff - 27 May 2016, where it remains

From: DP ********** /> Sent: 03 June 2016
To: Alicia ********** /> ********** ********** /> Subject: RE: GTI -Feedback?
