Citroen DS5 Endless Faults

Following my previous visit to the dealership for a wheel bearing replacements, and a coolant system fault/failure totalling over R10 000 in costs, my car has come up with more issues than I had originally booked it in for

So I have started to experience the same issues as other Citroen DS5 owners, also experiencing /experienced issues and with complaints here on hellopeter.

I also too it upon myself to look up on this cars recalls campaigns and the first one to come up is one with my exact issues! Our dealerships simply will not do this for you as they not really equipped!

Fuel Leaking when filling up my tank to full capacity or around the full range. Poor Starting and an Engine light. The poor starting and engine light is intermittent which means it doesn't happen consistently so the servicing technician at the dealership might miss / or give a wrong diagnosis as he did with me, claiming that the fuel pump needed to be replaced at a cost of R18 000 and R1000 labour.

The technician also said this would make my car loose power as experienced by all owners with this issue which I also experience intermittently!

These three issues where not a problem before I took the car in so it's very suspect that my car can now suddenly have these faults basically within a week of receiving my car from Citroen Centurion.

Citroen has a recall campaign that outlines these faults for my car year model.

"Vehicle Details Reference : R/2015/243 Manufacturer Ref : NKA Make: CITROEN Model : C4 (B7), DS4, C4 PICASSO, C5 (X7), DS5, C8, DISPATCH III VAN Launch Date : 08/12/2015 Numbers Involved : 9483 Build Start Date : 31/08/2012 Build End Date : 02/01/2014 Recall Details Concern : FUEL MAY LEAK Description : The fuel filter's integrated heater may be defective and could cause the cover to distort. This could cause air ingress and fuel egress. Either could cause poor starting and a warning light should illuminate Remedial Action : On affected vehicles replace fuel heater cover. Check and if necessary replace connector."
